Come explore new frontiers on the mountain dulcimer in the northern end of the Appalachian mountain range with Expedition Dulcimer: Roundhouse Lodge, July 25th - 28th, 2024
Nestled in the scenic region of Forest City, Pennsylvania, this captivating experience begins at the corner of Susquehanna, Lackawanna, and Wayne counties, offering a serene and historical backdrop for our dulcimer retreat. This charming borough, with a population of 1,748, is steeped in history. It was once a bustling town during the early 20th century, thriving in the timber, silk, lumber, and coal industries. Today, Forest City stands as a testament to its rich heritage while embracing the winds of change.
Roundhouse Lodge, our home for four days, sits on 41 acres of private property, providing panoramic views of the picturesque countryside. The lodge offers oversized living areas, a double-sided stone fireplace, a rejuvenating hot tub, a foosball table, and a spacious kitchen where Jae and Bing will prepare meals inspired by the culinary traditions of the region.
Expedition Dulcimer: Roundhouse Lodge features the same core focus on exercises, repertoire-building, and improvisation, but some of the music and styles will be inspired by the rich history of this part of the Appalachian mountains. We will be fairly remote, so prepare for a true getaway!
